The new sports ground as it is envisaged will be a total community facility for all ages, male and female no matter what their chosen sport is and no matter what standard of play they wish to achieve. Everyone will be made welcome !!
At this stage junior and senior football clubs have been catered for and junior and senior cricket similarly but this is by no means the limit to the aspirations we have. For instance, a suggestion has been made that the Pavilion could be used as a centre for Table Tennis, this is being taken seriously and the incorporation of this is being taken into future plans. Netball and Tennis is another priority and we will work towards it’s provision in the future.

The Facilities
The Facilities
Abbots Bromley Junior Cricket Club
We have approximately 30 junior members, girls and boys ranging in age from 5 to 15, all from the village and the surrounding area. The Club is proud of its young player development with an Under 15’s, Under 13’s and Under 11’s playing league cricket. We play cricket at all junior levels, from Kwik cricket through to under 17’s.
The club is an active member of the East Staffs Cricket Development Group, recognised as a forward thinking club within the area, and regularly host representative games at junior level.
Coaching and Club-Mark
The club has notably achieved the ECB ‘Club-Mark’ accreditation. This includes the role of a welfare officer, the qualification of a number of senior players as ECB coaches and the national recognition that we are a safe environment for young people to participate in sport. Every player, junior and senior, now has access to coaching - with indoor sessions run over the winter months and on through into the summer season.
We have moved forward in ‘leaps and bounds’ in recent years and, moving to the new facility, will enhance what has already been achieved.
Changing and playing facilities will be tailored to our needs and offer the ability to improve the quality of the coaching provided to our youngsters and offer the opportunity for more people, young and old, to play cricket.
